It has been a bit of a weird day, a weird week at that. I have been so sad and thinking a lot about Aidan turning a year old. I am not sure what it is, but I have been very emotional about it. I just can't believe that he is one already, I am not ready for him to be one. I am not ready to let my baby go. I miss our cuddles as he is now Mr. Independent and it is hard. Of course on the other side, watching him grow into this little boy he is becoming is also exciting and fun. He continues to surprise me every day. He has babbled all day long, he has these full conversations, he loves to sing and he loves it when we dance. He was sitting on the floor today with the remote control held to his ear like a phone talking. I almost burst into tears, but laughter came first. He is a happy, content and amazing little boy. JR and I have done one hell of a job this last year on no sleep! :) I made his birthday "smash" cake tonight and it is cute if not perfect. I'll take a picture and post it before and after. Our plans for tomorrow are simply just the 3 of us. We will have cake, open a few presents and hopefully get to Skype with my sister. The time difference makes it hard sometimes. We are having the big bash on Saturday, bowling, Pizza, beer...and cupcakes! I did order a cake and another Aidan cake but I am going to make the gourmet cupcakes. We are making a present for Aidan as well. We have taken all of the things that he loves to play with around the house...latches on the drawers, cords (he can't wrap around his neck don't worry!) You know all the stuff that kids want to play with other than their toys...we are going to mount them on board, I have painted the items, the board and a bright background of primary colors and shapes. It isn't fancy, but I think he will like it and I love that we are making it. I'll post a picture once it is done!
Oh, and do you know another 1 year old that gets up at 4:30am takes a 45 minute nap at 7:00am and that is his ONLY nap ALL day??? Yep, that's my son. God I am tired. He is like the energizer bunny, he just keeps going and going. What am I going to do when he starts walking on his own. On the bright side, I am not in labor tonight! :)
