An Apology

An Apology

I would like to offer an apology. You see, a few years ago I was dropping my nephew off at school at about 8:00am. I was dressed for work in my usual smart suit, stiletto heels, make-up on perfect, hair washed and styled, and starbucks in my hand, ready to start my day. As I waited with my nephew (we were a bit early) I started to notice mini vans pull up full of children and moms. The moms got out to chat with each other as I watched with horror. It was 8am. These women were STILL in their pajamas, slippers, not showered, hair up in a messy ponytail. I clearly to this day remembering…just because you have kids doesn’t mean that you can’t take better care of yourself and pride in yourself.

Flash forward to today. I have ONE child, he isn’t even in school. It is nearly 11:00am, I am in my PJs, my hair is in a messy, oatmeal covered, ponytail/bun/mess, I have not brushed my teeth; the only thing I have to wear today has babyfood on it. My favorite pretty Victoria Secret bra is covered with last night’s baby dinner of some orange color. My house looks like a tornado hit it…even when I pick it up. I have a ton of laundry to get done.

And to top it off I have only had ½ cup of coffee.

I am on my knees begging forgiveness for my thoughts a few years ago. I knew nothing.
