I'm Back...

Haven’t posted anything in a while primarily because we have been out of town. My sister and my niece came to visit for 3 weeks and we had a wonderful time. Aidan and I met them in London and we spent a few days there, sightseeing and shopping and then we came back to our house in Scotland. We did some local sightseeing and hanging out and then went up to Glasgow. It was so nice to have them over and did wonders for my state of mind! Aidan thoroughly enjoyed every moment and loved all of the extra attention. I will post pictures from our trip on our Picasa website and you can check them out there.

I will get back to blogging…

When we left we were having sleep issues with Aidan. He did great while my family was here but in the last week we have gone from bad to worse. Literally my child screams when you put him to sleep…I mean screams like someone is stabbing with tiny knives. It is HORRIBLE! I have been doing a lot of reading on the subject, he screams when you put him to bed, he screams each and every time he wakes up in the night (3-4 times usually) JR and I are exhausted. He isn’t teething, and at first I thought it was a separation issue so I tried to put him in bed with us one night. All he wants to do is stand up (he stands like crazy and loves to “walk” while we are holding his hands or he is cruising around the furniture. Sounds like it might just be a developmental stage and will pass. If we could seriously skip just ONE phase it would be heaven. I can tell you that this week has helped us to answer the “Will we have another one” question. A unanimous NO. Although that is right this second. I will have changed my mind at least 5 times before dinner. Thank God for JR. He is so awesome and we are so lucky to have a daddy that is as involved and hands on as he is. I don’t know what I would do if I had a husband that “pretended” to be asleep when the baby cries!

We are getting ready to go on our holiday when my mom and dad get here on the 28th…Rome/Venice/Barcelona and more importantly WARM SUNSHINE here we come!
I celebrated my birthday on the 13th of July and it was a very nice relaxing day. JR and I went out for a bit the night before and our nanny stayed with Aidan. We had a great time and it was nice to have some time to just enjoy life ourselves. I have been toying with an interest in painting, abstracts mostly and JR bought me an Art set. I LOVE IT! Of course I used to spend my time while Aidan was with his nanny during the week (about 8-10 hours) to clean the house, do the laundry…blah blah blah…but now I paint. And you know what it is so therapeutic and I just love it. I suck. I really suck I am sure, but I love doing it. And we are going to hang this shit all over the house! J I am kidding…Kind of. I am thinking of taking an art class this fall/winter it is once a week for 16 weeks and I think I would really enjoy it. I have also taken up Pilates. I have to say that I LOVE Pilates. You feel so strong and relaxed and in control…not like me spazzing out while “trying” to do fricking aerobics. I am doing it at home with DVDs and various equipment and wish that they had a class here. I think there might be one in the winter time, but at night…that is hard for me to do. But I enjoy it and am going to just keep doing it at home.

A few pics...it has been a while!
